Will it change anything?
Yesterday MiniMed announced FDA approval of their newest system the MiniMed Flex. The system has many positive aspects and its design meets the new realities of the insulin pump market. With smartphone control and no screen on the pump itself the Flex carries with it a lower cost of goods. Like the Mobii from Tandem MiniMed can also send updates directly to the smartphone another cost saving move. The question remains whether the Flex can help MiniMed regain their footing and begin growing again.
