Tyler Reborn?
Back in the day when AID systems were just starting, we coined the term, Tyler. Tyler was and is an insulin dosing platform that consisted of a connected insulin pen or connected cap cover for disposable pens, a CGM and insulin dosing algorithm which was accessed via an app on the patient’s smartphone. We speculated that armed with this information a patient could achieve pump like outcomes at a fraction of the cost of a traditional insulin pump.
Besides the lower cost Tyler had several additional benefits over a traditional insulin pump.
