Twas the night before …….

Twas the night before …….

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the wacky world of diabetes not creature was stirring not even a mouse.  The stockings are hung by the fireplace as companies in this wacky world wait to see whether they have been naughty or nice. Who will receive a lump of coal in their stocking and who will see the sugar plumbs dancing in the moonlight?

Keeping with tradition Diabetic Investor has accumulated a rather unique set of gifts for our friends in the wacky world, so here goes…

For Serge Weinberg the soon to be full-time CEO of that soap opera that was once known as Sanofi (NYSE:SNY) the ability to keep your mouth shut or as Momma Kliff used to say if you don’t have something good to say keep your mouth shut. Or at least have enough common sense not to say something negative in public.

To our wine drinking friends at Sanofi, more wine. 2015 is going to be a very difficult year and to paraphrase bother Blutarsky “If I were you I would start drinking heavily.” Wine may not solve any of your problems but then again neither does drinking milk so you might as well have fun.

To the remaining branded glucose monitoring companies, a decent burial and nice eulogy. It was a great run while it lasted but it’s been over for some time now and best to fade quietly into the night.

For the all the drug companies not named Lilly (NYSE:LLY) a strategy, honestly any strategy. Let’s hope that unlike your BGM brethren you recognize that the diabetes drug market is transforming into a commodity style market where price trumps performance and that you take the steps necessary to deal with this transformation before it’s too late or before Lilly eats you for lunch.

To the FDA plain old common sense. We know this asking a lot but given this is the holiday season we can always hold out hope, even when we know that’s all we have is hope.

For all the newcomers to this wacky world the ability to learn from the mistakes made by those who came before you for as the saying goes if you fail to learn from history your destined to repeat it.

To our many friends in this wacky world and yes Diabetic Investor has friends (and they know who they are as the checks are in the mail) thanks for providing us with some truly great material to write about. Yes the wacky world of diabetes the gift that keeps on giving.

Happy Holidays to one and all.
