The Numbers Tell This Story
At first glance the results released by Medtronic this morning looks ok. Worldwide diabetes revenue increased almost 12% to $647 million. However, when you drill down the numbers it tells a much a different story. Internationally sales were $432 million an increase of almost 11% hardly something to get excited about and the real reason why Medtronic partnered with Abbott.
Just by way of comparison worldwide Insulet sales increased over 23% while Tandem sales grew by 13%. Internationally Insulet sales grew by almost 24% while Tandem OUS sales grew by 18%. The fact is Insulet and Tandem have been gaining . . .
