Major Change At Sanofi
In what we can only classify as stunning news according to report by the Barking and Dagenham Post; “A new pub and carvery officially opened on Dagenham’s former Sanofi site this morning – to the sound of bagpipes.” Now Diabetic Investor has been unable to reach our wine drinking friends for a comment as we’re curious how they feel about people drinking beer at their former site.
The story goes onto state;
“Newly-appointed mayor Cllr Simon Bremner did the honours and cut the ribbon at the new tavern, which can cater for up to 180 diners.
Manager Joseph McDiarmid, 48, said: “It’s a whole new thing for Dagenham, to have a carvery, so it’s very exciting.
“Over the past few weeks people were pulling up in their droves to ask if we’re open so it’s nice to be able to welcome them in now.”
Owned by Marston’s, the one-acre pub will offer a daily carvery and has created 45 jobs.
“The feedback we’ve had so far has been very positive,” added Mr McDiarmid. “Everyone has been really interested.
“It’s exciting to be one of the first businesses up and running on the old Sanofi site.”
Although we do not know Mayor Bremner or anyone at Marston’s they are already doing better than the new Sanofi CEO Olivier Brandicourt and our good buddy Serge. Instead of firing people as Sanofi will surly do, they are creating jobs. Instead of providing products that no one seems to want, they are providing a product in high demand – BEER. Instead of producing nothing but negative news the pub is generating positive feedback – although we have to wonder how many pints were consumed before the feedback was given.
Now Diabetic Investor does not want to cast any negative aspersions on wine drinkers as many of our best friends drink wine. Nor we would claim that beer drinkers are more fun, although they likely have a few more bucks in their pockets given the price differential between wine and beer. Yet we do believe that Olivier and Serge just might learn from this experience as there is something to be said about creating jobs and providing products people actually want.
In fact we have a great idea given that Olivier and Serge seem to be searching for a strategy that actually works. Head over to the old stomping grounds, belly up to the bar, down a few pints and watch how a successful business is run. We know a good pint might take some getting used too given they are used to drinking wine but after a few pints even Olivier and Serge should get the hang of it. To make this even better the first round is on Diabetic Investor, it’s the least we can do so no thanks necessary.
Time to belly up to the bar guys as the way things are going at Sanofi this just might be the most fun you’ll have for some time. With sales of Afrezza continuing to come in lower than expected, sales of Toujeo so-so and generic Lantus coming the hangover is about to begin. Enjoy the good time while it lasts.
