Is this symmetry or what?
According to researchers at the University of California at Los Angeles caffeinated coffee reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes. This research comes on top of research from the University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil who also noted a correlation between drinking coffee and a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. Given that last week we learned that men could reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by throwing back a few cold ones, Diabetic Investor sees some interesting symmetry here.
Understanding that men sometimes have a tendency to overdo it when it comes to throwing back a few, this often leads to a mighty hangover. And for anyone who’s ever experienced this set of circumstances there’s nothing better than some strong coffee to overcome one’s overindulgence. This opens the door for some very intriguing partnerships as we just might see Budweiser and Maxwell House teaming up.
Although Diabetic Investor is not aware of any ongoing collaboration between liquor and coffee companies, we do know a place they can start their work together immediately. Given the way the Chicago Bears dismantled the Seattle Seahawks yesterday, we suspect there just might be a few folks in the great northwest testing this correlation as we speak. Although the Seahawks didn’t put up much of a fight yesterday their fans we’re in rare form knocking back more than a few during this humiliation. And as everyone knows Seattle is the birthplace of Starbucks and home to more than a few coffee shops.
Diabetic Investor is anxiously awaiting the next piece of research that looks at the correlation between cheese consumption and type 2 diabetes. With the Bears playing the Green Bay Packers for the NFC championship next Sunday afternoon, it will be interesting to see the correlation between being a cheese head and type 2 diabetes. Based on past experience with Packer fans we already know they’ve mastered the drinking aspect of preventing type 2 diabetes and can only hope they experience one huge hangover a week from today and wake up crying in their coffee.
