Is this progress?

Walking through the exhibit hall made me wonder what progress if any we have made over the past 30 years. Back then BGM was all the rage, today it’s CGM. Back then insulin pumps were new technology, today they are widely used. Insulins really haven’t changed all that much while the hottest thing today are diabetes drugs which also produce weight loss. The saddest lack of change comes where it really counts patient outcomes which haven’t changed at all.

There is no question progress has been made in terms of drugs, devices and ancillary tools that . . .
