How far can it go?
Like everyone else we’ve been spending a fair amount of time looking into artificial intelligence and how it can be applied to healthcare in particular diabetes management. Already we have advanced hybrid closed loop insulin delivery systems such as the Omnipod 5 and Control IQ which use AI. AI is also being applied to CGM technology and actually predicting future readings. Yet these current applications of AI merely scratch the surface of what AI could do. But no one has asked what should AI really do?
Our long-held belief has been diabetes management should be as stupid . . .
