Enemy of my enemy is my friend
It has been said that politics makes strange bedfellows well the same is true when it comes to gaining broader coverage for drugs and/or medical devices. While Abbott would never publicly admit it, they are eternally grateful for all the heavy lifting done by Dexcom to gain broader CGM coverage. Insulet and Tandem would not exist today if it wasn’t for all the hard work put in my MiniMed getting insulin pumps covered. This same scenario is now playing out with Lilly and Novo Nordisk two fierce competitors now also allies in their fight to gain broader coverage . . .
