Change the dynamic
When Abbott reported earnings last week there were no surprises, sales of Libre continue to power ahead. While we continue to believe their new sensor which measures ketones along with glucose will not materially impact sales it does point to a change in the CGM market dynamic. Here’s why-
1. CGM has become the standard for glucose measurement.
2. Usage has expanded beyond intensive insulin patients and is now growing rapidly for non-intensive insulin patients. There is also strong evidence that patients using orals alone are adopting CGM.
