When diabetes devices first began communicating with smartphones and apps it was unique and cool. Now that nearly every diabetes device in particular glucose monitoring systems communicates with a smartphone and app it’s really one big yawn. To be honest it would be real news if a device didn’t communicate with a smartphone/app. This functionality is now the standard not the exception.
We’d like to think that one day everyone would stop being so fascinated with the toys in the chest and start thinking about whether the patient is actually playing with the damn toy. Or . . .
