Without question diabetes is one of the more data intensive disease states. In the old days before the advent and adoption of CGM technology the goal was get patients to test their glucose three to five times per day. Since none of these devices were connected to a way cool whiz bang app the patient was expected to write down yes write down each reading in a logbook. Logbooks began to disappear when meters came with cables so the patient could transfer readings to a computer, eventually meters came equipped with Bluetooth so they could send the data to apps . . .
